When Gonzo’s Quest was first released by industry giant NetEnt in 2013, no one seriously anticipated a sequel or even a similar game. It was difficult to fathom improving upon such a flawless work of art, which was still widely regarded after seven years as one of the best slots ever made. That is, until the arrival of Red Tiger Gaming on the NetEnt scene. Gonzo’s Quest MegaWays is here, and now spinning the reels is much more fun than ever before!
Before and After
Red Tiger hasn’t changed a thing about what made Gonzo’s Quest so popular with the first release, so that’s good news for fans of the original. Instead, Big Time Gaming’s MegaWays engine and gamification feature have been included into the popular slot, providing players with even more and better ways to enjoy the game.
The original concept has been preserved in full, and gamers can once again travel with the Spanish adventurer and conquistador Gonzalo Pizarro y Alonso on his quest to locate El Dorado. Here, the most risk-taking tourists can potentially win back twenty thousand times their initial wager in gold.
Red Tiger’s popular Smart Spins and their Daily Jackpots-tool are two more brand-new additions to Gonzo’s Quest MegaWays. The improved slot machine has 6 reels, and between 2 and 7 symbols can appear on each reel.
Carl Ejlertsson, director of business development at Red Tiger Gaming, says that Gonzo’s Quest MegaWays is one of the best and most popular slot games of all time, and it was only introduced in time for the summer. To that end, Ejlertsson stated in an official Red Tiger news statement that he thoroughly enjoyed working with Big Time’s acclaimed gamification tool to develop the remake.
Ejlertsson added that the Red Tiger Gaming crew has been working around the clock to deliver the summer’s most anticipated slot machine on schedule. The Gonzo’s Quest MegaWays slot machine is a joint creation of NetEnt, the game’s original developer and publisher, and Red Tiger Gaming, a massive software studio that NetEnt just bought.
Red Tiger Gaming is off to a flying start with the award-winning Red Tiger 2020. Recently, the developer was honored with five prestigious awards at the exclusive online 2020 EGR B2B Awards gala.
Red Tiger Gaming walked away from the ceremony with the titles of “Mobile Supplier,” “Mobile Gaming Software Supplier,” “Slot Supplier,” “Innovation in Slot Provision,” and “Innovation in Mobile Provision,” besting its competitors across the board. This proves, once again, that Red Tiger Gaming is among the iGaming industry’s most revered software providers.
Red Tiger Is a Great Investment
All of this makes it quite clear why NetEnt AB paid an all-time high price in September 2017 to purchase the groundbreaking company. In a historic all-cash transaction last September, NetEnt purchased Red Tiger for £200 million.
At the time, NetEnt said that buying Red Tiger Gaming Limited was a great move because it was in keeping with the company’s long-term goals for iGaming and slot game development.
The deal primarily served to bring together two of the most forward-thinking companies in the iGaming business, creating a new behemoth in the field. Red Tiger Gaming Limited is wholly owned by NetEnt AB. Debt facilities from Danske Bank and Nordea helped NetEnt pay the cash purchase price.
The deal appears to have paid off in more ways than one now that Gonzo’s Quest MegaWays has been released.
